Salem R V Motorsports Hits The Track
At the turn of the century, Gus and his father's love for auto racing grew to a point where they both decided it was their turn to help out area race car drivers with sponsorship, as well as lending a hand in the marketing of the nearby historic racetrack, Selinsgrove Speedway. The first racecar ever sponsored by Gus and the Salem RV team was Mike Bingaman's #00 Late model. Since that day, Gus, and the Salem RV family have accumulated proud sponsorships of over a dozen race cars that represent every division of dirt track racing in the east coast. Some sponsorships have come and gone over the years but the majority of them have stayed together like a close knit family.Primary Sponsorship from Salem RV can be found on the Sprint Cars of the #12 of Blane Heimbach, Mike Walter in the #63, and newest members to the Sprint Car family, driver of the #7m 410 Sprint Car, Mark Smith, and local rookie sensation Cody Keller. Those drivers have countless wins and track titles at various tracks throughout the area to add to their resumes. Each and every one of them are designated as, "the drivers to beat", at any given Sprint Car event around.
The Salem RV sponsored Late Models are no laughing matter when it comes to wins and track tltles as Salem RV is the primary sponsor on the #33 car driven by veteran racer Scott Haus. Selinsgrove Speedway regulars Jeff Rine & Mike Bingaman also carry Salem RV on their cars each and every time they pull into victory lane.
Selinsgrove Speedway support divisions like the Prostocks are covered with sponsorship as well through Gus. Bill Glass III, driver of the #70 Prostock, carries primary sponsorship from Salem RV completing the 2008 list of fullsized racecars, that carry the proud family and dealership name, Salem RV.
The Shultz Family Success
Alfred Shultz owned and operated the Salem Motors Dealership since the open sign was placed in the window over twenty five years ago, before moving aside the automobile business, to start up the RV business back in the early 90's. It was shortly after that time that his youngest son, Alfred Jr. (Gus) was handed the reigns of operating the family owned business. Gus literally placed his family and the business on his back, and proceeded to carry the Shultz name, and what is now known as Salem RV, into the 21st century, as an A-1, million dollar RV Sales and Service Dealership.
